~ A Note from BANE (Serbia) ~
Line-Up Change & New Track Online!

"To all fans and friends of Bane,
My appearance at this year`s Metal Onslaught Festival in Kikinda (Serbia), happened to be my last gig with the band. Unhappily, due to my personal stuff and obligations with my own band, I'm not able to give my maximum in Bane anymore. I must say that this was a very difficult decision to make - to quit the band, which was taken by myself only. Obviously, there is no "bad blood" between any of the band members. Actually, we are all looking forward to work together on the new upcoming Bane album this fall, and hopefully many other projects in the future!
I'd like to thank you all for your support, and ask you to keep supporting Bane in coming times! Of course, the biggest thanks is reserved for three great guys: Branislav, Sabbathorn and Occvltvm Mallevs!
Hail Chaos!"
Novelja a.k.a. Nokkturno

The band wishes to eternally thank Nokkturno for the great times spent with him both on stage and off stage. All the best, brother!

In addition to this, we would like to introduce fresh blood to the band: Bojan Vukoman - welcome aboard!
---
In order to shorten up the wait before the new album is recorded, the re-recorded version of "In A Dying World" (that was released on the "Necrodeath Ritual" Split MC with Neftaraka) is now available for streaming on our Facebook page.

MAAX (U.S.) Unholy Rock and Roll DIGI CD review by Terrorizer Magazine

By Guy Strachan

It's refreshing in this day and age of splitting everything into a microcosm of genres that a band paints their descriptive sound in broad strokes, but given the urgency of the content, Maax have little interest in anything other than forging ahead with fist-banging mayhem. Aside from opening gambit 'Coldest Steel' that is biting, as-close-as-you-like elegy aimed at recreating the snarling rage of Teutonic uber-thrash, musically 'Unholy Rock 'N' Roll' pretty much lives up to its title, veering between (slightly) restrained thrash (see 'Black Thrash 'Em All) and the proverbial death 'n' roll, albeit with the resulting concotion heavily infused with a Motorhead swagger over an Entombed groove.

Rating: 4/5

ENTRENCH (Sweden) Inevitable Decay CD review by http://battlehelm.com

By Anders Ekdahl

Just as the second wave of thrash differed from the first, thrash metal in 2011 isn’t the same as it was in 2001 or 1991. Even though many would like you to think so. While thrash never really made it big with the Swedish bands in the 80s and 90s there are today a ton of new thrash metal bands popping up all over the place. Entrench is one of them. Looking at the cover you’d be forgiven for thinking that this is some old school kind of thing. Hearing the music you know that this is pretty much old school thrash metal with a German clang to it. This is like hearing Kreator’s debut album for the first time. The nostalgia alone would not have saved this from a brutal slaying had it not been a pleasant experience. “Inevitable Decay” turned out to be another fine example of old school thrash metal done the 21st century way.

HAT (Norway) - Vortex of Death DIGI CD review by www.minacious.org

By Mordant

Hat is Norwegian for Hate (also Swedish by the way), back in 1993 they where known as Ravner, after a hiatus lasting from 1996 to 2996 they have now returned as Hat. This is their second album under that name and it’s an intense experience. You can tell the band was originally started in 1993, the music is a perfect example of the second wave of Black Metal done right, the Norwegian kind. The music is brutal and raw, yet with a strong atmospheric touch. There is a true sense of darkness to the music, which is very important. If you are tired of third rate Darkthrone-clones and are looking for a true piece of Norwegian Black metal art Hat is a must.

TORTURE DIVISION (Sweden) With Endless Wrath... DIGI CD review by http://hatredmeanswar4.blogspot.com

By OccultBlackMetal

Torture Division are a band from Sweden that plays a very brutal form of Swedish death metal and this is a review of their best of compilation cd "With Endless Wrath We Bring Unto Thee Are Infernal Torture" which was released by Abyss Records during the year of 2009.

Drums are very fast and brutal with alot of blast beats, while the bass playing is all rhythm bass that follows the riffs that are coming out of the guitars and there are some powerful bass leads being used at times.

Rhythm guitars are mostly fast death metal riffs with some midpaced heavy parts being thrown in at times, while the lead guitars are melodic and very dark sounding death metal guitar solos.

Vocals are deep death metal growls with some high pitched screams being thrown in, while the lyrics cover death, gore, and torture, as for the production it has a very heavy sound that makes the music sound very brutal.

In my opinion Torture Division are a very good brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of that genre you should add this album to your collection. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "We Are Torture Division" "Invoking The Knifer" "End This Rotten World" and "The Torture Never Stops" which is a WASP cover.

ENTRENCH (Sweden) Inevitable Decay CD review by http://autothrall.blogspot.com

By autothrall

The first thing that struck me about the Entrench debut was the gaudy and colorful cover art, which to some might seem disgusting or tasteless, but to this old timer, brought me back to the halcyon days of the 80s when a lot of bands on the underground circuit simply did not have the scratch or pull to get some masterpiece illustration or painting for their recordings (see Anvil Bitch, etc.) Blasted out buildings of antiquity, a straight red logo and nothing pretentious or presumptuous anywhere in sight. This is all too fitting for Inevitable Decay, an album which does its damned best to recapture the virile energy of the German band Kreator during their prime of the mid 80s period, from the vocals to the intensity of the riffing.

Now, it's not 100% Kreator worship, but it's damned close. You'll also hear a lot of their fellows Destruction in the crisper guitar tone, plus the belligerent bluster of Sodom, but in general, there is an indisputable, highly Germanic retrospective element happening here. Rather than just settle into the shadows as a tribute, though, Entrench actually implement some thunder and lightning to their compositions, so despite their obvious derivation they've got an admittedly fun fucking debut album with this, and one that I've been listening to several times just because I truly rue the fact that there aren't more bands today doing SOMETHING with this sound (even the progenitors have moved onwards). The many demos this Swedish band recorded prior to the full-length have obviously sharpened their skills and dedication, and Inevitable Decay must now join Havok's Time is Up as one of the premiere 'retro' thrash recordings of the year 2011. So, there. I have decreed it! It must be true! Oh, stop snickering in the background.

Like almost every good thrash record, this one functions due to not only the bleeding speed and proficiency of its musicians, but also the varied pacing dynamics which make it feel like a pure 80s effort, since there were few bands in that day that would go 100% in one direction without the rock influence of multiple tempos, power ballads and such. Entrench can thrust along with intricate numbers like "As Dawn Breaks" and "Doubt What's Left" which recall Pleasure to Kill, Kill 'Em All and Sentenced to Death at their most blistering, but they also tone down the speed for some great mid-paced chops throughout "Into Oblivion", "Portrait of a Phobia" or "Blind Illusion" (try NOT banging your head out to that last one). But what really rules about this band is that such obvious effort has been placed in every track...none of these tunes feel like 'filler', even if they can all be traced back to the 25-year lineage of the genre.

Inevitable Decay does not 'advance' or expand the thrash metal genre. This is not Vektor, who have a good chance of offering us some progression in places. But for what they do, Entrench are damned good at it, and if I am to sit through a record which celebrates what must be my favorite of all sub-genres, then I want it to be serious, energetic and durable. These songs aren't all about fucking sluts, drinking beers and being 'OMG WE'RE SO THRASH'. This is not the work of petulant children, but guys who really love those old records and want to do honor by them. With such a cavalcade of blazing riffage and authentic, thin yet potent production, they have the potential to quicken paces and disable pacemakers everywhere. Inevitable Decay is not an original or innovative work, but in every other category of consideration, it kicks asses straight into the goal.

Rating: 8.5/10
