|
I had no idea where to add this..
I’ll try to put this as nice as possible (which is unlike me).. I see less and less of the requests getting added, instead I see “Thanks analbirth for all the recommendations” every month now (the last 3 to be more precise).. I haven’t seen any of his “recommendations” in the request forum, so they must be made personally by e-mail.. good for him, he’s searching for lots of bands, but it is unfair to the rest of the people here.. hell, the last updates were almost entirely death metal, and most of it 2nd, 3rd, 4th hand bands, sorry.. what’s with all this “analbirth fm”?.. so his tastes are great, ok whatever, he doesn’t need to introduce it to us?.. We have the Request forum, we have the Polls..
I’m sorry, to me it looks a preferential treatment here, and it makes me feel bad.. this is not something pointed against analbirth (he offended me really bad last year without provocation but that’s history), only a “WTF is happening?” thing..
That’s why I’d appreciate something from Jeric, if he wants to.. I know, it’s your station and you can add whatever you wish, I truly appreciate you for sharing it with us, however this doesn’t seem fair..
Or maybe it’s just me, in which case I’m sorry for mentioning it ..If I’m speaking only for myself or not we’ll see..
I’m expecting some bashing from people here, but I can handle it..

*moved to miscellaneous and renamed appropriately to keep the requests forum clean*
analbirth has done a lot of research on free and legal downloads from those bands. He sent me emails about these. I did not have the time to get them so I asked BQ to help me. I didn't realize that I was undermining the Request forum by doing so but I try to add as much as I can each month. So that is my fault and I apologize for doing this and as a result I will no longer accept requests through email.
As far as less and less requests being added. There are a few reasons why but here's a few to get started...
1. There are less and less albums that need to be added as I add more and more.
2. To put things into perspective... adding 50 albums a month is a lot of work, so adding 100 is crazy!
3. There are less and less albums being donated by members each month (ZERO this month).
4. I've been spending more time with family lately.
5. I still have a full time job.
It's been the policy that we've only accepted original CDs but that has altered over time as bands and labels have offered us downloads of their albums in order to reduce their costs, which I totally understand. When their albums are offered as free downloads, I also interpret that as permission to broadcast.
So from now on, downloads are OK as long as they are legal. _________________ "It's all Venger's fault! We oughtta do something about that guy. " -Eric

JERIC, thanks a bunch for clearing this up. It had become a concern, and Misan wasn't the only one starting to wonder. _________________ Not dead, just sleeping.

To Misan : yepp analbirth is searching free stuff that is offered by the bands so he isn´t treated prefered, he just helps to keep additions vivid. His proposal don´t affect any of the others requests cause those are mostly to be purchased (at least in a mp3 compatible way).
JERIC: yepp thnx fully understandable that a lot stuff sounds alike and is not really the egg invented new. For sure there are some members that have their personal favorites and like to see it in the playlist. The Playlist is indeed long enough to experience different styles in every manner. As I stated once I think it´s important to have the "genre classics" and the so called "top acts" that can be found each day in some or the other way in the queue or ppl can´t wait to have a listen into the latest record (e.g. bands like kataklysm, amon, behemoth, deicide...) [if that makes any underground freak flip off, sorry these are some "bestsellers" and maghyped bands indeed, but suit majority].
So a 10 band quality update is for me a higher embrace as 50 schraddeldaddel (engl.: fucked up sound) bands.
As it seems i got a job next month now there will some earnings float back into your business again (and im glad to BUY some good releases and donate them.)
edit: I think mp3 purchases are are just perfect for a radio so it makes easy to get albums for the hot rotation and last-minute additions. _________________

Great news concerning legal downloads.
Pehaps it's possible to split up the request forum to separate albums and mp3 files?
Sorry i didn't donate CD's recent times but i decided caused by shipping
costs and a lack of albums i could buy and send to prefer to donate money.
JERIC has his sources to get CD's cheap and added most of my reqs so i
save the € 8 for shipping, that's at least one more album if i donate money. |

I want to add whole albums only, not partials. That only creates double work for me and questions about why this and that is missing. So I think keeping it by Album, regardless if it is Demo, EP, LP, and as long as it is the full deal, that's ok and we only need one forum for that. Please don't request individual tracks that are free downloads.
No problem guys about not sending in content recently. I have plenty of work to do anyway. But it is always appreciated when you do. Thanks! _________________ "It's all Venger's fault! We oughtta do something about that guy. " -Eric
