Can I improve the sound quality somehow? It's pretty poor at the moment.

Part of the sound quality could be the bit rate you pick to listen. The 128k streams are the best but you have to be RIP members to get it. Otherwise the 64k stream would be the one of choice.

Necro, even being a RIP, I prefer to listen DFM using aacPlus 64K stream. I use WMP to listen to it and I get very good results doing a litte adjustment in the higher frequencies at the equalizer:

The 64 bit AAC is equal to 128 k streams. that is what I use as well.

Switching from 32k stream to 64k helped a lot. So it wasn't up to equalizer. But thanks anyway.

64k aacPlus is my choice too, then 128k WMA on Windows Mobile. \m/

Adjusting the EQ is a good idea too since we run all of the streams almost flat.

Excellent point. I've been doing that for awhile, depends on your speaker setup. My work setup is a decent, but not pricey, Logitech 2.1 system. The highs and upper mids get boosted by the EQ for them to improve the sound. But at home, I have a much more expensive Klipsch 2.1 system, flat is good there, no EQ boost necessary. So, the point is, play around a little with your EQ and speaker placement, you will be amazed at what differences you can make.

And one more thing, its gotta be a .1 system, no sub=no good music sound. Yes

I was hoping you noticed the change in the .1 lately. I made some adjustments to the stream processing about a week ago and I think it is a big improvement.
