|
- You want to make sure you have VLC installed.
- After VLC is installed, type
Code: |
wget http://loudcity.com/stations/death-fm/files/show/aacplus-hi.pls -O DFM.pls |
in terminal.
- Finally, type
in terminal and enjoy.

It's not interesting at all. All he did was download the playlist and play it. In windows it is the equivalent of a few mouse clicks.
How about we talk about the structure of playlist files instead, codecs, and alternative command-line media players? Hehe, you know what would be interesting? Mentioning that you must have the correct permissions to run cvlc, and that 'VLC as root' error is a cryptic error, and not that VLC is broken.
Perhaps it is also worth to mention to the Columbian Fairy Faggots Community, for debugging purposes, that uninstalling Hello Kitty Island is often the fix to most VLC misbehaviors, hehe. |

But I like terminal it smells of professional knowledge. _________________

Thanks for posting that tr1sth3t, I didn't know of cvlc and I've asked myself sometimes in the past how I could listen to dfm on a linux console. _________________ " ... and the Vogon will do things to you that you wish you''d never been born, or, if you''re a clearer minded thinker, that the Vogon had never been born." |

In terms of evolution, I believe people who use CLI are above those who use GUI. CLI users have to use their brain more. CVLC does not require any extra permissions, either. It is wise to use an account on Linux that does not have superuser access. CVLC will work such an account; it does not require superuser access... (unless you've already made the mistake of setting superuser permissions on a network accessible program.)

Using one's brain more is by no means the sole criteria for judging evolution |
