Now it is possible to mark members to have their messages in chat ignored.
In the user's profile, tab "Who is", there is a checkbox "I want to ignore this member messages on chat". Marking it will hide messages of that user in chat, for the user that made the mark. Unmarking it will make the messages show up again.
Log popup still showing all messages.

Best implementation ever, gladly i can tell the ignore list is not long right now yet I need it to keep my sanity.

It's a shame to have a need for such a feature, most of us here get on just fine. But at least now the problem is solved.
