I started listening to hard rock music in the mid 60s, been listening to rock and then metal since then, at very high levels of volume. Been to more concerts in all those years than I can remember, and rode loud motorcycles since the early 70s and been shooting guns for years. Needless to say I didn't always protect my hearing (how about never), and now I am paying for it. Bad tinnitus (ringing in the ears), can't hear very well (probably going to get hearing aids), and sometimes it is a bit painful to listen to music at anything over a conversational level.

Anyway, over 40 years of noise and my hearing is shot. So, take it from me, especially those that are much younger and haven't done a great deal of damage. PROTECT YOUR HEARING!

I know people who never listened to loud music who start to experience hearing loss at a certain age, e.g. my parents. But yeah, it's just common sense.

Just reupping this as a reminder. If anything, my ears are worse, can't really listen to music at all anymore, it is painful after about 5 minutes at even levels you can talk over.

Kiddies, don't end up like this guy! Evil or Very Mad
