Myriads - Introspection
|
complete garbage :( |
|
...this dung is for the arse. I would award no pentagram if i could do it.
If that is no helpful review, i also don't know... ???
I've written the same review, by the way, about their other album.

Malignancy - Inhuman Grotesqueries
|
pure kick-ass brutality! |
|
Technical death at its best!!! Super heavy riffing, some slams here and there, and it works so well.
No fillers, every (short) track has a great riff or vocal attack to make a worthy listen.
The bass and drumming are both superb as well, nothing seems out of place in this album.
All this is accompanied by a truly killer, in-human growling performance.
Overall it's 'humorous' with the samples, and just pure kick-ass brutality.
This album rules!!!

Warmaster - First War
|
easy-listening death-metal (in a good way) |
|
It's hard to review this WARMASTER album without saying that there may not be much new. You like them or you don't, i do.
It's most mid-tempo, no blast beats and the vocals, while gruff, are not over-the-top "brutal", but outstanding from start to finish.
It's not super-tech either, but there are still some nice solos.
The lyrics are silly in their relentless glorification of war, but i don't listen to dm for the lyrics. I listen to dm to get excited and blow off steam.
This is quality, straight ahead, easy to listen to death metal. Good production too, with a nice tight bass/drum drive that really powers the album.
If you consider yourself a fan of death metal, especially old-school stuff, you have to check this out...

Orphanage - By Time Alone
|
Gregorian metal :) |
|
Good old days! I remember being still in high school when this was released.. I was a huge fan back then.. they used to call their music “Gregorian” metal, which now sounds a bit silly.. one of the first bands to play atmospheric death metal.. or whatever you wanna call it.. they do have a nice balance of melody and aggressiveness, death metal vocals + bitch vocal (very “trendy” back then).. the tracks are easy to remember and very “catchy”.. my fave part were the drums, or at least the way they did the mixing of drums..
After this album they went too commercial and I stopped paying attention..

Void Of Silence - Human Antithesis
|
Post apocalyptic paint |
|
Italy is not the best country in the world when it comes to this kind of music, but this is a great exception.. Apocalyptic doom would be the best description for it.. sounds like a soundtrack for some post-war documentary.. this is the peak of their career.. great atmosphere, slow doom mixed with all kinds of shit, and above all the great vocals of Nemtheanga (Primordial vocal).. he truly has an unique voice and gives the album real depth.. for people who want to explore their melancholic side..

Zonaria - Cancer Empire, The
|
The mosh-pit |
|
Only one word can describe this album: energy! .. if you’re out of fuel this is the best therapy.. after listening to it, you’ll have enough to break down walls.. melodic death metal at it’s best.. after a great debut the follow-up is just as good, even better I’d say.. very fast, energetic album, death metal vocals, great atmosphere.. perfect music for the mosh-pit..

Notably covered by girl group Bananarama, the song returned to number one in the U.S. and topped the charts in six other countries around the world in 1986.
