Nokturnal Mortum - Voice Of Steel, The
Valkyrie
By: misanthrone
Date: 14 Apr 2010
Rating:

So far this is my fave album in 2010. I definitely did not expect this from Nokturnal. They have added more influences to their sound, the most surprising ones being "rock" influences. Listen to "Valkyrie" and you will understand. The rest is what you would expect from them, melodic black metal with folk influences. Definitely the most complex of their career. They still have the "aryan/white power" lyrics which makes lots of people to hate them. But if you can get past that, you will discover a great band.

Cradle Of Filth - Vempire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein
Vempire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein
By: Ebonfire
Date: 12 Apr 2010
Rating:

Cradle's greatest and most epic release to date. The improvement in both the musicianship and production departments is nothing short of astounding compared to their debut album "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh", or even any of their subsequent releases.

This EP, while containing some of the greatest songs ever composed by this band, includes a re-recorded version of their impressive "The Forest Whispers My Name", and a re-working of the track "A Dream Of Wolves In The Snow" (originally from the Principles album) into the classic track known as "Queen Of Winter, Throned".

Although all of Cradle Of Filth’s future (and previous) albums are quality releases in their own right, none of them can match the monumental glory that has been attained by this epic masterpiece.

Mesetiah - Purpose Of Our Existence, The
Death Metal is not my beach
By: Pesadelo
Date: 2 Apr 2010
Rating:

However, these guys rule.

Very well played guitars, a drum from hell, an excellent hardware, and a good production, all these contribute for a continuous wanna-listen-to album. Rintala does true DM vocals - harsh and steady. The mid tempo of the tracks are a good bait for Black Metal listeners.

If it was not added to playlist so later (March, 2010), it would be at least a monination of mine for 2009 Awards (Best Album category).

Still one of the most brutal albums ever released! I fell in love with it when I bought it on cassette back in '91 and I love it even more on disc! All of Malevolent Creation's albums are BRUTAL, but this is a CLASSIC!
