Altar - Ego Art
Catchy Beats - Yet Missed Something
By: HeadlessBeast
Date: 25 Jun 2010
Rating:

Guitar beats, drum rolls, vocal parts, bass lines, EVERYTHING... Was amazing. Although, this was a really slow band, and some-what put me to sleep at times when they didn't kick it up when needed. I think this band really deserves more recognition, although it's not in my top favorites at all.

Not the best, but great!

YOB - Unreal Never Lived, The
Mellow - Good Sound!

This isn't really a death metal band at all. It's more kick back and relax sounds. It's the type of music you wanna jam out too when you are just starting to get into harder music. I also see where people are coming from with the pentagons it was received by many. If your like me, you enjoy creepy sounds of lust, anger and slower tempos. I really feel like this album was missing the hardcore fast tempos. Maybe next time!

Amputated - Wading Through Rancid Offal
Peaceful Compared Too...

This band really delivers a nice tone. I appreciate the tempos, and drum beats that the band gives out. Everything is really even, and sorted out. They also know at the right time to git' crazy. I enjoy this album.

Ea - Ea II

one of the best funeral doom I've ever heard.. this is their darkest opus, slow and heavy, pretty hard to digest.. they say their lyrics belong to a dead language, so if you're into that kind of stuff you might find this even more appealing .. Russia's best funeral doom in my opinion..

Horde - Hellig Usvart

this is unblack metal, what a funny joke. they are trying to sound christian and blasphemous at the same time? fuck these guys. the funny thing is that any christian listening to this would just think it's regular satanic metal. what's the point? oh yeah and the music is godawful.

Graveworm - As The Angels Reach The Beauty
Graveworm- As the Angels Reach the Beauty Full Lenght (1999)
By: Azdragar
Date: 20 Jun 2010
Rating:

This is one of my favourites Melodic Black Metal Bands, so i think this is their Best Album ever. Much mature than the previous Full Lenght "When Daylight's Gone" (1997) and the Ep's "Underneath the Crescent Moon" (1998) & "Eternal Winds" (1997) and not as boring as their Last ones "Collateral Defect" Full Length (2007) & "Diabolical Figures" Full Length (2009), albums who has changed the Graveworm's Melodic Black Metal sound to a blend with a bit of Power Metal.

In this Album, 42 minutes aprox., you can enjoy each song track. It's a great balance between the powerful voices, melodic guitar riffs and keyboard's pretty ambience. I have no other band's sound, which seems me simmilar to this, so i guess that's the virtue reached in this work.
I like a lot, the way like Stefan Fiori sings. I think he's one of the few "singers" who can transmit the real feellings between lyrics and music, not as many others Metal vocals, who scream and don't sing.

My favourite son's #4 "Nocturnal Hymns", but i can say the other ones are so pretty good as this one.

Very recomended, for the ones who like Melodic Black Metal albums, not as fast and not as slow like others, just a perfect blend between Sadness and Darkness.

1349 - Demonoir
Demonoir
By: Ebonfire
Date: 18 Jun 2010
Rating:

Demonior is a return to the earlier style of aggressive, uncompromising and high intensity black metal that we all used to know and love, but still contains obvious traces of the ambient black metal found in their previous album “Revelation Of The Black Flames”.

Overall, all of the actual songs on this album are extremely well done, even though they are broken up by all the mini-instrumental tracks that have been placed in between each song. Those who wanted a return to 1349’s earlier style will certainly be pleased with this.

The interludes, while not bad on their own, are numerous and break up the flow of the album. Most of the interludes flow seamlessly into the next track, so I think they should have just been blended into the actual songs to begin with or, preferably, taken out altogether.

The three covers found on the limited edition of Demonior seem to be nothing but straight copies of the original songs. Anyone who has heard the originals have, by extension, heard 1349’s rendition of them. This doesn’t mean they’re bad covers, but I did expect 1349 to do a better job with adapting the originals into their own style.

Demonior is definitely a very well done album, and a welcome return to the type of relentless black metal that we all know 1349 are capable of.

lousy production, almost unlistenable. you can't make out any riffs or any instruments, its just a wall of noise. i'm all for brutal death metal but this is what happens when you try to take it too far
