Centinex - Decadence - Prophecies Of Cosmic Chaos
For fans of Behemoth |
Centinex combines pounding death metal with strong melodies, "Cold Deep Supremacy" a melody may remind you of a certain classic song by Cannibal Corpse. With sweeping black metal reminiscent of Emperor. This album is for anyone who enjoys newer Behemoth.

Ancient Balls - Voices
Melodic Death Metal from Greece. |
What is impressive about ANCIENTBALLS (aside their name) is their conviction about the music they play. And I believe them. It is Death Metal in a way, but the band has its own unique approach to the way they sound. Heavy, mainly slow and melodic (absolutely different to Swedish sound), with obvious rock intentions, it maybe reminds something from Six Feet Under. But I dare to say I prefer AncientBalls’ aesthetic. There is something undefined that the band manages to use in its own favour. The CD ends with a well executed cover of “King of a Stellar War” (Rotting Christ) which is a bit unnecessary since it disorients the rest of the demo’s character. If you are intriqued by the above, you should definitely check them out

October Tide - Rain Without End
A perfectly miserable atmosphere... |
"Rain Without End" is the first full-length from October Tide, a side project of members from Sweden's Katatonia. Appropriately enough, I first discovered this album on a rainy day, many years ago. As I write this, the sky is gloomy and the cold rain has been falling for hours. A perfectly miserable atmosphere for such bleak music.

Hammer Smashed Face was the first death metal song, i've ever heard. Back in these days I don't like it. But these dark times are over and I'am a fkn death maniac.
CC is my favourite death metal band and this album, I like most. Hammer Smashed Face is my absolutely favourite track on earth. The sickest song on this album is Necropedophile. I was like: "Is this song really about what i'm thinking...?" yea it's exactly 'bout necropedophilia. The vocals are perfect. Chris Barnes made a great job. The lyrics of every song are awsome. They are violent and sick. Every death metal fan must love this album.
Yea, it's an old album, but in my opinion, it is the best CC album.

Horde - Hellig Usvart
The one that started it all |
Back in 1994 during the height of the second wave of Norwegian black metal anti-Christianity and satanism were at their peak in this genre of music. Then, out of points unknown comes Anonymous (later proven to be Jayson Sherlock) with a response to what was coming from Norway at the time. Sounding just as evil and raw as his Norwegian counterparts such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal and the rest Anonymous answered them. At the time holy unblack metal didn't exist, there was Christian metal but it was what only could be described as "lame" by any true metalhead. This single album (the only one made by this band until the live performance in Oslo in 2007) spawned a genre that has gotten a firm foothold in the realm of underground extreme metal. If some of the current crop of holy unblack metal bands such as Firethrone, Evroklidon, Erasmus, Susperia Profundus and many others have gotten you interested in holy unblack metal then the album that spawned it all is mandatory for your metal collection.

Alright make clear, this album.. No I mean this band. Is not like the other and newer black metal sound. This is pure melody and not focusing on technical at all. The heavy guitar riffs together with a easy drum beat at the backround and a very groovy type of vocals that is only described as, very ''special Black Metal vocals.'' The vocals and guitar is the main thing you get in mind. The guitar riffs are so melodic that you will start listening to the songs again and again in your head and think to yourself that its just pure beautiful.
Just like I said, this band is a bit different from nowadays technical black metal but it has deffinatly the spirit of black metal in it. When you hear it, you will think: Just Pure black metal at it's best. And for a pure black metal freak this is deffinatly the stuff to check out. On the other hand. If your more of a death metaler and can't understand the beautiful melodic sound of this I don't recommend get into this band.
Overall review, by far amazing music pure melodic and very beautiful. Really what black metal should be aside from the technical part. Gets a 5/5 from me because it really brings back the old memories from the first black metal bands that came Burzum, Emperor, Bathory and all those.
