Immortal - All Shall Fall
The Rise Of...Immortal |
This is an awesome album and what black metal/Immortal is all about. Thundering riffs, lightning fast pounding drums and great lyrics and vocals. Immortal always makes great music and the lyrics always make you feel like your up top of that vast mountain, glacier, or in the war with them. Very great atmosphere. Awesome band, great comeback album!

I - Between Two Worlds
If you like Immortal you will like this |
I didn't really know what to expect when I bought this album. I knew i was a fan of Immortal's last album 'Sons Of Northern Darkness'. I figured it would be something along those lines. I was mistaken, and delightfully surprised. It is heavy metal with a hint of black metal, and the blackend vocals of Immortals own Abbath. The songs are very catchy and extremely unique. It's a must for any fan of black metal or any one seeking out something new.

Torture Killer - Swarm!
Well-written old-school death metal |
Chris Barnes is one of the greatest vocalist in all of metal. Very good death metal, with solid guitar work. I'm impressed with the quality of this record, and Barnes's voice sounds incredible. This is solid death metal with a little old school sound.

Hate Eternal - Conquering The Throne
Fast paced, brutal, technical death metal |
Absolutely one of the best debut albums I have heard for any band. Every song is filled with pure intensity and brutality. I knew Erik Rutawas talented when i heard what he did with Morbid Angel on their excellent album, Domination. But this CD just lets his true energy and awesome guitar playing shine! Definitely recommended for any true metal fan.

Sepultura - Arise
A Thrash Masterpiece |
From Brazil comes Sepultura's "Arise", a vicious combination of fierce vocals, tremendous riffs, blistering solos, and pounding, blasting drums. Seputura's Arise is one of the greatest Thrash albums of all time. There really isn't any other way around it. And while compared to other releases from Sepultura it fails in comparrison but the fact still remains that within the genre of Thrash, Arise is one of the hands down undisputed greats.

Nile - Annihilation Of The Wicked
Hail The Gods Of Egyptian Death |
Annihilation of the Wicked is a great album from Nile and its definetely a masterpiece. Nile have felt the pressure due to thier previous outstanding and criticly acclaimed album In Their Darkened Shrine, but they have managed to surpass themselves. This album is just so good that you have to litterly pick up your jaw from the ground. The intensity and complexity of the music is mind-boggling not to mention the great production values and the musicianship is 100% perfect they use the obvious Egyptian Mythology that has always worked and has distinguished themselves from the other death metal groups out there. With epic songs like User-Maat-Re, Lashed to the slave stick, Annihilation of the Wicked and the last track they have shown once again that they are unbeaten when it comes to technical death metal and they are my favorite group of all time.

Carnifex - Hell Chose Me
Solid album by these guys |
Carnifex is one of the best deathcore bands around. Hell Chose Me is their newest release and is much darker than their last two releases. They have a much more professional sound and it all works well together. This is a great album and is a prime example of the new deathcore/deathmetal scene.

Bloodbath - Unblessing The Purity
Four brutal tracks |
I think I've had Bloodbath's "The Fathomless Mastery" on rotation since I purchased it over a year ago. It's inspiring, brutal, heavy, slow and sludgy at times. I must have overlooked this EP as one of their older non-Mikael Akerfeldt led efforts (Bloodbath without Akerfeldt's vocals just doesn't appeal to me) but was very happy to find four more brutal tracks from one of my favorite metal bands. This album will probably be in my listening rotation for some time to come.

Dying Fetus - Descend Into Depravity
Absolutely Crushing and Flawless |
It is brutal, catchy and simply gut wrenching. I have not stopped listening to it since it was released. Some of the riffs and double bass in this album are so kick ass. This is a must have for any death metal head.
