the most "commercial" death metal band :).. actually I don't see much death metal on this album, with all the (great) melodic vocals.. Burton C.Bell's performance on vox is excellent and Raymond Herrera's drumming just incredible.. I was/am blown away by the intensity of this album, who sounds just as fresh today as it did back in '95 when I've first listened to it..

This is album of an special era in norwegian and northern black metal scene, this album did not fit in the direct line of the late 90's symphonic sounding stuff.
The sounds and atmospheric feelings in this are like echoes from the cold mountains of the shores of Norway, the reflexons on the fills are like shades of the flames of hell it self.
It was once said that the most pure black metal is crafted by immortal, and i can agree on that

This is maybe the best bolt album ever made, their own style of creating powerful and addictive death metal is proofen to be almost perfect in this album.
There can not be nothing bad about bolt, but maybe as they are the band of one subject, they might some time in the future get to end of the ideas, lets hope that does not come soon, in several years

This is a strange metal band, who we have to thank for all the modern folk bands been born in the norhern europe. It has humourous touch and it takes a parts from folk music to add in to blackie/death/power metal like backgrounds...
the strangest thing about them is that they sing mostly in swedish....

This album has several good songs, and the only bad thing to say about the album, is the production, it is still close to demo tape, at least in some parts. Songs are pure, lyrics are poetry and the athmosphere gives this a label of one of the best bkack albums there is.
The lyrics in this album are still based mostly on occultism and visions and dreams of evil.
A master piece, as each of these albums they have made.

This is the absolutely best of the sepultura albums, after this started a long and painfull downfall, with good songs. This is an example of what was to come, and what was left behind. this should have been left their last album, well maybe chaos a.d. would be nice to have too.

This must be the most under estimated Finnish metal band, at least inside the borders of Finland. They are trying to invent better and better ways to create more and more evil music, and i think this is almost perfection at least on their terms.
