Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia
Album Review |
Dimmu Borgir have made huge steps to become Cradle of Filth's big rival in the Black Metal world. Their new album ups the stakes. This is Black Metal all over. With a few twists and turns like using a full orchestra for tracks like SYMPOZIUM, or weird industrial samples and loops in PURITANIA, PURITANICAL sets the Dimmu boys in motion for serious touring. And the more by-the-numbers black metal doesn't let down either without getting boring or long winded. Tracks like BLESSINGS UPON THE THRONE OF TYRANNY or KINGS OF THE CARNIVAL CREATION stink of evil

Decapitated - Nihility
Album Review |
In their second album in two years, Decapitated have begun to overtake the metal underground. Mixing dark European grindy death with black metal, they have produced eight tracks of pitch black, evil death metal. Earache has, without a doubt, found a new metal giant. While it is a young growing giant, it is a giant beyond it's years in pure talen

Cattle Decapitation - Humanure
Album Review |
Cattle D's new opus, starts off with a beautiful acoustic intro that goes directly into normal gore/grind stomp. One thing I would like to point out, I realize this is gore/grind and all, but at a lot of points on this album, it's so cliche'. Like they figured they found a pattern or formula to writing songs and stuck to it. Where's the chance taking? Also where are the balls behind the guitars, the production of the album is so below standard these days, I mean you literally have to crank up the volume to hear it. Now don't get me wrong, this is a killer record, but I just think if they put a lil' more time in on it, it could have been even better. Well, sound-wise that is.

Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage
Album Review |
Bloodbath has put 10 incredible strong tracks, everyone of them is brilliant. The production are also really strong. You can hear what Mikael sings, Anders impresses big time, and Dan has managed to create an amazing drum sound.
As usual when it comes to death metal, the lyrics are mostly about death, darkness, and evil. And Bloodbath's lyrics are no exception to that. A few of the brilliant songs are "Ways To The Grave", "So You Die", "Death Delirium" and "Bath In Blood".
This is early 90's Swedish death metal at it’s best, the debut is a masterpiece. I hope that they are going on tour with this so everybody can catch them live!

Devourment - Butcher The Weak
Album Review |

What can I say? Typical Devourment album. BRUTAL, FAST, GORE FEST. Music and guitar work as usual, fast and heavy. Defenetly among the best albums ever made.

Simply BRUTALITY at its best. Devilish vocals, blast drumming. Everything a maniac could want in music. Lyrics are goreish and extreme.

Brujeria - Brujerizmo
Album Review |
Finally, after 5 long years we hear new material from the imfamous death metal mexican rebels known only as Brujeria. This album is "rumored" to have members of Fear Factory, FNM, Napalm Death, Cradle Of Filth, and Dimmu Borgir. Methinks it's more than rumor when you hear the drums and guitar on "Vayan Sin Miedo"...you can almost see a certain big boned guitarist and a trail of tacos. The drums are furious and put most death metal drummers to shame, the riffs heavy, yet catchy.

Behemoth - Zos Kia Cultus (Here And Beyond)
Album Review |
Behemoth is one band that has been around for a good while, and has delivered classic albums, and this is one of, if not, their best. Behemoth shreds with an album's worth of untouchable metal. Simply figgin' priceless. It's beyond a description for me, but if you need to hear one song to grab you, listen to the title track. It will steal your soul.

Aborted - Engineering The Dead

This cd is eight tracks of pure gore, violence and destruction. From cover to back, Engineering the Dead doesn't disappoint, it terrifies.
