Out Standing in their Own Field |

People tend to either love or hate this album, but nobody is indifferent about it. Twelve reviews here, not including this one, what other band can match that?
Also, one of the most frequently played albums on this station. WTG GAYRAIDS!

Awesome album, imo. If you are a fan of the *stockholm death metal* sound
(Dismember, Grave, Unleashed, Desultory, Entombed etc.),
Demonical is THE band for you... Promised.

Job For A Cowboy - Genesis

The constitution of masterbatrial genocide |

Embedded is 1 of JFK's best songs. It is more steady and consistent than most deathcore songs but is brutal and technical enough to hold your interest. Top 5 JFK songs for sure.

The Funeral Orchestra - Feeding The Abyss
|
Enter The Depressive feel of TFO |
|
When I got this album nearly in the start of 2008. I couldn't get more depressive than Draconian's 'Oh Death Come Near Me' and Forgotten Tomb's 'Love Burial Ground' and Mournful Gust's A Pain To Remember, The gem from The Funeral Orchestra, pure blend of Funeral Doom with epic texture of Death. This is incredibly depressive, but also mysterious. Instrumentals like 'Black Orbit' create a different atmosphere which is rarely felt in a Funeral Doom album.
Most Metal critics said that the demo was too short ( nearly21 minutes), but the listener can be satisfied after listening to this album, since it's over an hour long. The 3 songs are from their 2003 Demo 'We Are The End' are included in the album (We Are The End , Black Orbit and Apocalyptic Trance Ritual), and the other stuff of new material on this album are simply breathtaking. 'Worship' is the great try at making something depressed. It kicks off with a little guitar drone, then an organ kicks and hear a girl's Desperate crying. It did make an image in my mind of a girl crying in an church. The album ends with a live version of Church of TFO. The sound quality is great, because It is a live song, Since the mixing of this song is not so good because one can easily hear people talking in the back for most of the track. Still, this definitely proves that TFO can be a good band both in studio and to be live.
Overall, if you enjoyed the depressive music of bands such as Shape of Despair , Draconian , Forgotten Tomb , Mournful Gust, do grab this, but keep in mind It is much depressive doom feeling of cemetery , there are no Black Metal elements like in Forgotten Tomb. Filled with doomy, slow and depressive riffs, this album got positive review from mine , I just said in last that It should keep Funeral Doom fans coming back for more.

after Scar Symmetry's last album this one takes us back to when they were with christian because its more heavy with melodic/power elements to it.This album is full of death/power metal riffs which are just awesome.Even though they now have two singers doing the vocals instead of 1 this album is great.

Longing For Dawn - Between Elation And Despair

Between Elation and Despair weaves dark ambience and desolate infinity with truly tyrannical melodies and vocals.
The albums four tracks are lumbering yet catastrophic with poetic spoken words and brutal gutturals reminiscent of Mourning Beloveth, Process of Guilt, and Doom:Vs with a slight industrial vibe.
If you are a fan of funeral doom and completely crushing music, this is for you.

Vital Remains - Dawn Of The Apocalypse
|
a great album! |
|
This album is quality death metal from the very beginning! Everything from the classic distorted crunch of the guitars, to the audible bass melodies make this worthwhile! The vocals are spot on aswell as the lyrics, which do stay on a mostly blasphemous topic! Lastly, the overall theme of this album along with the amazing solos are what make this album so enjoyable!
Classic!

Artillery Breath - Inhuman

Artillery Breath-Inhuman
"METAL IS LAW is the last phrase printed on the inside sleeve of "Inhuman" and Artillery Breath lays the law down on this record, released by Capeside, from the opening dirge riff of :Raped by Worms" through the last cough of "Trailer Thrash."Primarily influenced by the faster end of the metal spectrum,"Inhuman" is a display of Artillery Breath's amazing musicianship that isn't pretentious or over-produced,even though the record is well engineered by Kurt Ballou [Converge] at his God City Studios in Salem,MA. Fusing black, death, thrash and even a little doom, "Inhuman" is a record that doesn't lose momentum even when it slows down. Precise even when blasting, with fluid guitar lines balanced by solid bass and topped with raging vocals, this record crushes."
