Falls Of Rauros - Light That Dwells In Rotten Wood, The
FoR just keeps improving
By: cjjeepercreeper
Date: 18 Jan 2012
Rating:

This album, their latest, has a bit more polished sound than the previous ones, but still retains that raw feel that is an essential element of their nature based black/folk. Tracks 2 and 3 are epic, the only bands that can compare is Agalloch and maybe Wolves in the Throne Room. This type of black metal is difficult to pull off without sounding cheesy or just plain horrible, and it is a distinctly American type of music. The only foreign band I can think of that even comes close in sound is Drudkh, and they have a slightly different direction at times.

Opeth - Still Life
Perfect
By: Godheads_Lament
Date: 7 Jan 2012
Rating:

Opeth, the only thing i can say about them is really pure perfection, I have never found such a band like them, as reviews have said before this they put everything into every note, emotions run forever when opeth creates a new song. This Album is to me their best work this album is so full, no gaps. Pure Genius while the other albums are amazng none of them are as full as Still Life. This album is my favourite of all time.

Spearhead - Theomachia
brutal blackened death metal!
By: slayer85
Date: 27 Dec 2011
Rating:

This is one extremely intense album! The album is intense from the very first track, to the last! If u like black metal that sounds like filthy sounding death metal draped in raspy vocal screams... This is for you! The production is super crisp, the overall concept of the album remains consistant. Overall great release from such an overrated band!

Sodom - Agent Orange
...A Thrash Classic
By: headlessbeast
Date: 18 Dec 2011
Rating:

For those of you who enjoy Thrash Metal; this is the album to purchase. Sodom has a great sound, which they really made it much more easier to see that and hear that on "Agent Orange." I remember when I first picked up the album myself, I found every song to be perfect. The songs structures are what really gets me. They don't spend too much time on a given riff, or leave a riff too fast; nor do they return to the same riffs over and over again. Perfection is what I am hearing with this album.
