Wine From Tears - Through The Eyes Of A Mad
...

The conflict between calmness and anger expressed in mixed clean and harsh vocals, and the use of string instruments gives the atmosphere of the hard death/doom sound.....

Funeral Mist - Maranatha
For those thats into listenable black metal
By: slayer85
Date: 4 Sep 2012
Rating:

I took the opportunity to listen through this amazing album with wonder. I find myself amazed at how in this project, the band creatively changes pace and tempos to each of the songs as they unfold. A lot of the songs have various electronic filler to make it a bit more experimental as the riffs go from charging. To a bit doomy at times.

The obvious part of the album are the Marduk inspired riffs and song structures that most of the songs possess .
Overall this is highly artistic black metal for those that need something more 'artsy' and occultic, that also stays in tact with its roots!

Hate - Erebos
Polish Masterpiece!
By: Nezhuxm
Date: 11 Aug 2012
Rating:

I completly agree with the guy that says: ''excellent ,excellent , excellent and excellent.'' But I am going to explain a bit more detailed why so.

I've always been a big fan of Hate! And I've also always been a big fan of the polish ''Death Metal sound''. And if you wanna know what I mean by that search up bands such as: Behemoth, Lost Soul and Vader and of course these guys aswell!

There is always something that makes the vocals of these bands so fucking Brutal! Not sure really why but.. God damn!! So raw yet deep and powerfull growling that suits the genre Blackened Death perfectly! Its not that type which is extremly deep though... You can actually hear the vocals if you got the booklet to see the lyrics. But it still got the brutal and raw feeling to it!

The guitar is always something that really brings to mind aswell! I would not call it ''simple'' riffs yet I would not call it overly technical either! (exept for Lost Soul) most of the bands play of course in 'D' Which is a tuning that will never let you down! (Worth to mention Chuck used D aswell with Death) Together with amazing riffs that are even a bit ''catchy'' you could simply describe it as: FUCKING AWESOME!

I can easily listen to the entire album all day long since there is not a single ''BAD'' song on it!! Usually on a metal record you find like 2-3 songs that are awesome and find the rest just sound the same over and over and it gets boring.. Not in this case!!

I could sit here and make the worlds longest review since I have owned the album since its release. But I will make a Summary: If you love bands like Vader and Behemoth this will be a blast for you!! If you love riffs that are brutal yet not overly technical and fast drums combinded with that. Check this out!

And also worth to mention this is one of my favorite bands! Together with Vomitory and Death!! Also one of my favorite records ever together with Gorerotteds ''Only Tools And Corpses''! :)

Garden Of Shadows - Oracle Moon
Stunning \\..//
By: urielms
Date: 5 Aug 2012
Rating:

Compared to the other melodic death metal albums out there, Oracle Moon sounds quite differently than the rest. You can clearly tell that Garden of Shadows is from the United States by the way the guitars sound, very crunchy and vibrant, which give the genre an interesting turn.

Brocken Moon - 10 Jahre Brocken Moon
Brocken record

Incongruous vocals and drumming that seems to be out of time renders this apparent attempt at DSBM a torturous and prolonged aural torture.

I got this on a double-CD with Nord. I slightly prefer this one, otherwise the same comments apply.

Setherial - Nord...
Does exactly what it says on the tin

The band have that great traditonal Norwegian BM sound, but when you sit down and listen to the whole album (maybe I'm the only one who still does this) the tracks all sound pretty similar. That's quite normal for the genre, but it makes this good rather than great.
