Satyricon - Volcano
By: arimak
Date: 10 Sep 2010
Rating:
Satyricon are a band that have never cared for the latest trends and their 5th full length album Volcano shows exactly that.

On this album they move away from the traditional black metal sound and adopt a slightly more rock orientated approach. Satyr's vocals continue to improve and fit the music well while Frost's drumming consists of more mid tempo passages and less blast beats. The guitar's are cleaner but are still definitely putting out black metal riffs.

This album puts Satyricon on a new course far away from its traditional roots and confirms Satyricon as one of great innovators of the black metal genre.

My stand out songs:
With Ravenous Hunger
Fuel For Hatred
Possessed
Repined Bastard Nation
